G Bland and Sons: Made in Barnsley, serving customers globally

G Bland and Sons of Barnsley is no stranger to change. Indeed, when it started as a general garage in the 1950s, it did not forsee its move into engine remanufacturing.

But that’s exactly what happened and it hasn’t looked back since. As Neil Bland explains: “We’ve become extremely well known not just in the local area but further afield for the work we do. This includes helping other engine reconditioners and contract work for defense, industrial, heavy duty and passenger car customers.”

G Bland and Sons continues to invest in new technology and systems, all of which are key to the success. A family-run business, its reputation has recently seen it pick up classic car work and work from overseas customers.

On membership of FER, Neil admits it feels good to be part of something: “Our business continues to change and it feels good to be part of an association with like-minded businesses and members.

“It’s very busy right now and we need to ensure we continue to support local and national customers with everything they need, expanding our services as a result.”
