The annual FER training program schedule has been announced, featuring four evenings of virtual training and two sessions face-to-face, plus the date of flagship conference and AGM.
The schedule offers free-of-charge training and insight to all members of the FER, and provides detailed insight into sealing compounds, fluid management, hybrid applications and their ramifications for engine wear and rebuilding.
FER Virtual Training Sessions schedule
Wednesday 20th July – 7:00pm
ElringKlinger discusses Sealing Compounds with actual liquid sealing solutions.
Thursday 18th August – 7:00pm
ElringKlinger looks at Head Bolts and Hybrid Cars, with the new challenges for cylinder head gaskets and other sealings.
Tuesday 13th September – 7:00pm
Millers Oils considers Industrial and Fluid Management, and their sample analysis service.
Thursday 8th December – 7:00pm
ElringKlinger explains in Oil Seals in detail, from standard elastomer material to high-tech PTFE solutions.
FER Training Seminars (in-person) schedule
Monday 10th October – 7:00pm
Taking place at Nottingham College, the FER’s Hybrid training course focuses on the new challenges for conventional engine wear.
Thursday 13th October – 7:00pm
Taking place at Andover College, FER’s Hybrid training course focuses on the new challenges for conventional engine wear.
Given that modern hybrid vehicles still use a conventional piston engine, hybrid applications can apply considerable additional stresses and loads. The materials within the engine suffer from more wear and tear, as a result causing more work for engine builders. The FER training session on hybrids will deep dive into this additional strain on engine blocks caused by hybrid applications, to help technicians and engine builders understand the additional work required.
FER Conference and AGM 2022
Saturday 15th October – 10:00am
FER will welcome lectures from DR1V on the aftermarket, Millers Oils on sample analysis, AMC will discuss cylinder head manufacturing, Ajusa will celebrate their 50th anniversary, ElringKlinger and MS Motorservice will offer a lecture on hybrid vehicles and the new challenges for conventional engine wear, and Ascend Brokers answer any FER member insurance concerns.
